Indira Gandhi. This spectacular garden expands over a huge area of 57 hectares out of which only 10 hectares of land is utilized till date. The uncultivated land is, however, under improvisation and is continuing to grow every day.

This Botanical Garden's purpose is to maintain ecological balance, maintenance of diverse plant species and education of people about various plant species. With these aims it was established in 1986 and is continuing to grow various plants scientifically even today.

Some of these plants are neem, dhatura, kaner, jamalghota, etc. Besides these there are various seasonal herbs and flowers that adorn the garden panoramically. Further advantageous are the economically important plants that serve to improve human livelihood and yield profit. A separate corner is dedicated to all sorts of bulbous plants like tulip, ginger, onion, garlic, etc. The bulbous plants also form an ornamental pattern and are herbaceous perennials that are beneficial to us.
Furthermore, this garden has a section for various aquatic plants grown with latest technologies and forming a colorful display in water. The green house is also scientifically planned and developed.

The Botanical Garden could be easily reached by driving through the Varanasi-Lucknow Highway. Towards the west side of this botanical garden runs railway line of Raebareli-Allahabad almost parallel to Varanasi-Lucknow highway.
